Dr. Marcie S. Rubin an Assistant Clinical Professor of Behavioral Sciences at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in the Section of Socio-behavioral Sciences, Division of Foundational Sciences. She is engaged in education and training programs that aim to reduce health inequities and promote principles of population health, person-centered care, the care of vulnerable and underserved populations.
Dr. Rubin graduated from Brown University with an AB in Biology. She received her MPH in epidemiology from the Mailman School of Public Health and her MPA in public administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She earned her DrPH in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
Dr. Rubin has spearheaded multiple programs to reduce oral health inequities experienced by socially-vulnerable children using the MySmileBuddy caries risk assessment, education, and health behavior intervention. She enjoys working with stakeholders, including multisectoral ones, that seek to incorporate MySmileBuddy as part of their approach to enhancing value and achieving the quadruple aim. Dr. Rubin has appreciation for the variety of ways that MySmileBuddy integrates with health and oral health care delivery and finance in dynamic culture, workforce, and policy environments.
